I am, in no particular order: A wife. A mom. An elementary school TA. A crocheter. A reader. She / her.
This week I got a lot of positive recognition for something new I started at work: A monthly STEAM class for our elementary students. I’m immensely proud, but I have a hard time feeling like I’m just flat out bragging or being beyond boastful about it. How do you know where that line is?

Just 2 more wallpaper bundles to reach my goal! Close now - hoping to get this wrapped up tonight.

Who wants to brighten up their desktop with a trip to the seaside? This collecton is from a wander around Portsmouth earlier in the year.

And so it begins: The first few early leaves have fallen, school is about to start, and early morning temperatures are in the 40s. Bring on fall! ❤️🍁

Oliver is not a fan of rainy days because it means fewer walks than is ideal. Granted, his ideal is 3-4 walks of at least an hour each so he can sniff out all the intruder (deer) trails and find all of his toad and frog friends, and so he never meets this goal. But a dog can dream.

🧶 Adding this to the craftiverse! ❤️
I think this will remain one of my favorite projects for a long time: A blanket made for a wedding gift. My current project (started as a scrapghan, becoming a huge blanket) is much less formal and planned out. It’s orange and green like a pumpkin, so it’s making me nostalgic for fall already.

Once again, Oliver is waiting patiently for his kids to get home from camp. I will miss these quiet moments with him when school starts and the kids and I have to go back to full-time next month.

I’m listening to Tom Petty’s Wildflowers album for possibly the millionth time. It’s been in my regular rotation off an on for the 29 years it’s been out, and it has given me many gifts, not the least of which was a connection to my dad at a time when it felt hard to relate to each other. (1/2)

It seems unfair somehow that I occasionally do yoga and yet I’m still no where near as bendy as Oliver, who spends at least ¾ of his time napping and lounging.

In the words of an excellent shirt owned by @scalzi.com I did a thing. I’ve been slowly backing away from a lot of social media. And I finally hit the point where I am getting no measurable benefit from the bird app. 1/2

Here's what we've been waiting for! DPLA has made a GPS-based app that tracks what books have been banned in your area and makes them available to you legally and for free.

Readers get freedom, book banners get mad, authors get paid! Thebannedbookclub.info

The dog waiting patiently for his boy. Mom is feeling a bit less patient, but I’m trying to follow his good example.

Re-skeeting this because the wallpaper bundles I bought are making me so happy right now. Seeing the Turtle of Calm on their various adventures is just the vibe I want (and need!) right now. Go get yours! Hurry!
One week to my birthday! (Leo season is about to begin!)

I'm on a short deadline, I need to sell 6 bundles in the next day or two.

I'm still hoping to pull off a miracle or three, we'll see how that goes. But one step at a time.

It’s a good time for a sleeping puppy pic. This is Oliver. He is talented at both napping *and* zooming. He loves chewing and making sure our land is safe from the pesky wildlife that like to take advantage of the relative safety of our quiet yard. Per my kids, he is the best bestest doggie.

I work with elementary kids who have all sorts of needs that can’t be met by capitalism and our current healthcare system. It definitely reinforces my non-conservatism. I don’t know how to fix it because I’m still new to this field, but what we have a long way to go.
RT only if you are NOT becoming more conservative as you grow older.

Took my kids to the book store yesterday, one of my favorite things to do with them. As a huge book and word nerd, it’s magical to see my kids excited about new books and worlds to explore. My eternal thanks to the writers of kid and YA lit and the family members who help enable our book habit.

I’ve been here for a while 2 days and I already have 6 followers! Woot! They range from a dear friend and one of my favorite authors, to previously unknown people who I am interested to learn more about and … um, Satan. We live in very interesting times, friends.

Had a pretty perfect moment last night: My kids were giggling and being silly together, my husband and I were spending some quiet time together, and our dog was happily snoozing through it all. Nothing profound or exciting, but pretty perfect all the same.
