Just absolute craven shitshow gotta-be-first-to-the-internet politics.
Annnnnnd now the West Virginia governor says he's not sure about the condition of the National Guardsmen.

Maybe best to not tweet out that they are both dead until, you know, you KNOW that is absolutely the case...

She’s the mother of his child. He told her to “self deport”. She’s been in the US since she was six.

Monsters is right.
I think we can safely say that the Leavitt's brother called ICE on his ex, the mother of his child, and I have to say: I have no desire to respect, find common ground or share the country with these monsters.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...

I retired rich at 30 by giving up avocado toast and eating cabbage.
Chat, is it a good sign when the Atlantic's Thanksgiving take is "cabbage is affordable"?
Cabbage is affordable, delicious, and astoundingly versatile, @giladedelman.bsky.social writes. The underrated crucifer “is fit for a king”:

Donald Trump sent more money to bail out Argentina than it would have cost to extend the ACA tax credits for just 1 year.

I don't plan to let anyone forget it.

Calling Trump a “fascist” is not puerile “name calling” anymore than calling him a rapist or convicted criminal or calling Jan 6th a coup; it’s a fact that needs to be stated over and over again.

So, no.

Excellent idea.

It's not going away, so teaching people how to be actively critical and skeptical of its output is not just good but necessary.
Some of us have been advocating this going back since chatGPT launched. It also has other benefits: correcting someone else's work is actually a really good way to learn something yourself.

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

something i'll note is that if nuzzi ran catch-and-kill ops for rfk jr and lizza knew this prior to him being appointed as HHS, and instead of telling anyone, he decided to save it for his substack long after rfk jr had made communicable disease into federal policy, that's completely fucked

the takeaway from the Zohran Trump meeting is that Trump is a gullible fool who will temporarily bend to the last charismatic person he talked to.

Zohran played him perfectly but that doesn’t mean Trump is good now. He’ll go back to fascism tomorrow morning after he talks to Stephen Miller

Perhaps it’s time to haul his ass back in there.

Also congrats to everyone, including Olivia Nuzzi, who helped normalize this man.

Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.

That an unqualified, anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist is behaving like an unqualified, anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist is painfully predictable.

But the fact remains that 52 Senate Republicans were given an opportunity to protect Americans from RFK Jr. — and they failed spectacularly.
CDC backpedals on vaccines and autism, despite earlier assurances from RFK Jr.
The CDC, under the direction of an unqualified health secretary, is now promoting claims that flunk Logic 101.
