Valentina staring at the front door, waiting for Laird to come home from dialysis.
Head, neck, and fore-paws of a black, brown, and white border collie mix as she stares rather impatiently at the door.

Most pumpkin patches "pre-pick" the pumpkin anyway (they cut away and remove all the leaves, vines, and foliage leaving bare pumpkins hanging out in a field). If you go buy one in a store, no one will be the wiser.

Luke Honey is a pretty sweet character. Pun very much intended.

Nah, I needed a little nudge! But I haven't finished Not a Speck of Light yet 😬

Or at least something intentionally stupid.

I've been wanting to see Naked Gun.

It's hard to decide which are "favorites" because the whole damn book is outstanding. As you may have guessed, I am rather partial to the Jessica Mace stories but I thought that adding LD50 and Termination Dust may have been too on the nose?

William Jackson Harper was perfect as Keith!

I'm pretty sure that "Hallucigenia" broke a lot of brains.

I had to do the same. I wasn't ready for his writing the first time I read The Imago Sequence. The second time, everything just gelled perfectly.

So in Laird's fourth collection, Swift to Chase, my favorite stories are Black Dog, (Little Miss) Queen of Darkness, Andy Kaufman Creeping Through the Trees, and Tomahawk Park Survivors Raffle.
What about you? Obviously, there are no wrong answers :)

So in Laird's third collection, The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All, my favorite stories are The Siphon and The Men From Porlock.
What about you? Obviously, there are no wrong answers :)

So in Laird's second collection, Occultation and Other Stories, my favorite stories are Mysterium Tremendum and The Broadsword. What about you? Obviously, there are no wrong answers :)

Thanks! Yeah, it was possibly one of the most important and meaningful things I've ever done in my life.

I have so much love for chipmunks. Years back, we saved a drowned chipmunk and these photos are from the day we released them.
Close up of an eastern chipmunk Close up of an eastern chipmunk eating nuts and seeds with their tail slightly curled, there are some leaves and pine cones in the background The adorable face and paws of an eastern chipmunk in profile; their ear is perked up and their eye is bright and curious
