The impatience is oozing off of him now, and after a flurry of kicking his pants off and tossing his shirt off the edge of the bed, Whitaker’s kneeling on the mattress, reaching out to him. “C’mere.”

His hands fall to his sides. “You want me to earn it?”

Robby nods, trying and failing to keep the smirk off his face.

Whitaker’s eyes narrow, and he squares his chin. “No. You want this just as badly as I do. I don’t have to earn the inevitable.”

And oh, it’s like fire in Robby’s veins the way the words <i>burn</i>. “You think you know me, kid?”

“I know you couldn’t keep your fucking hands off me my first day.” Whitaker counters. “You looked for any reason to touch me, your <i>resident</i>. Pats on the back or a hand on my neck, directing me where to go. And people noticed.” He adds quickly. “Mohan. Garcia. Santos. Even the nurses. They’ve all asked me if we’re fucking.” He moves closer, hooking a finger in Robby’s waistband. “You’ve been dying for this just like I have. And I think it drives you crazy that I’m pushing back.”

Very sad to see NBC Out go down. I know journalists who have worked there and it was home to some of the best in depth reporting on LGBTQ+ issues out there from a legacy media outlet.

Legacy media continues to abandon us, and it seems only we can tell our own stories these days.
