Polio is once again a public health threat in the United States. Grace is disappointed, though not surprised.

Launched in 2023, Imaging Neuroscience is now firmly established, with full indexing (PubMed, etc.) and 700 papers to date.

We're very happy to announce that we are able to reduce the APC to $1400.

Huge thanks to all authors, reviewers, editorial team+board, and MIT Press.

More than 85 American and international scientists have denounced a Trump administration report that calls the threat of climate change overblown, saying the analysis is riddled with errors, misrepresentations and cherry-picked data to fit the president’s political agenda. Make no mistake, everything that’s happening in the United States is being significantly enabled by the right wing oligarch capture of media.

Every other country needs to do everything possible to keep that from happening where they are.

Including protecting the CBC from Poilievre here in Canada.

Please repost. The Centre for Functional and Metabolic Mapping is looking for a Preclinical MRI physicist (9.4T and 15.2T Bruker Advance Neo). You will join a team of 14 dedicated staff in Canada's National Ultra-high field MRI platform who also operate 3T and 7T human scanners in the same facility.

We will install a Bruker 11.7T preclinical MRI in the near future. Looking forward to tinkering and doing new science

So…what’s the latest in health research in the US?

Excellent overview from @kkjetelina.bsky.social & @sciencewhizliz.bsky.social

Watching this play out, I’ve been too sad to write much myself. I’m grateful to them for continuing to tell what’s happening

Temperature Update for June 2025

Third warmest June in the instrumental record.

Similar conditions to May, but sharply cooler than earlier in 2025.

Neutral conditions in the Pacific.

2025 is very likely to be the 2nd or 3rd warmest year.

And here we are, grateful for everyone with us in this moment. A social platform isn’t all that social without good people supporting it.

Exclusive: National Science Foundation staff were told today that the agency’s 37 divisions—across all eight directorates—are being abolished and the number of programs within those divisions will be drastically reduced.
