One of the surest signs that you're getting good at creativity is if you go "Wouldn't it be cool if..." and you manage to mine that into making a bunch of stuff around it so it works. A lot of my scenes start out when I think of a cool line/blocking/joke and write so it can feel earned and cool

Speaking of, a really good way to make horror media much scarier is to simply refer to it as "terror" media instead. The burliest guy you know will run screaming once you mention you watch Terror Movies

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me that "The Chatbot Is Not Smarter Than You" should be rule #1 to keep in mind if you must use LLMs in any way. The likelihood of bad outcomes increase the more you trust these "intelligences" over your own

Lots to be said about how lazy criticism can incentivise blandness in art. I've seen people hesitate to do genuinely cool things in writing for fear of coming across as wish fulfillment or mary-sueish. Writing about weird and exceptional things/people is good! It's what makes a story interesting!!

It's amazing to me that we can write and post little quips online for everyone to see. Time was, if you wanted to do that you'd need to be writing NPC voice lines for GTA at Rockstar or something
