News outlets are right to not play along with the Defense Department directive that tries to force reporters to only publish information officially authorized by the department.

This is government censorship, plain and simple.

Media outlets, including Fox News and CNN, refuse to sign Pentagon's press access rules | CNN Business

The Pentagon is telling beat reporters to sign restrictive new rules by Tuesday or surrender their press passes by Wednesday. Many news organizations are rejecting the ultimatum and saying they will not sign.

All-in-all...this recent console announcement doesn't bode well for the gaming industry at all.

I'm genuinely think we are approaching another gaming market crash far worse than what happened in 1983.

Only one of these titans can bare that storm...and I'm worried at the outcome of it.

Xbox doesn't have exclusives, plus Windows computers can get the Xbox app, therefore game-pass

Sony's exclusives are usually available within a few month/a year after its original release

Nintendo's exclusives...are ONLY available on their system (unless you sail the seas)

I guess the point of my rant is that...console gaming is not longer becoming affordable anymore. You're legit better off just buying/building a PC; no cap.

The current rig I'm using? A little over $1,300 but I can upgrade this thing whenever and with proper care it will last longer than 10+ years.

Say what you want about the NS2 price; I EVEN THINK IT'S OUTRAGOUS. However...even the current market? It's still a better deal financially, and you still have a cheaper alternative (NS1) that's gonna continue to get support for longer even after the $40 price increase.

So not only are both Sony and Microsoft releasing overpriced consoles within a short life span of the previous systems that they JUST made...but the improvements are so miniscule, they don't warrant the higher price tag nor the EXISTANCE of them in the first place.

And that's not even bringing Xbox into the equation; the current price for the standard S and X models are $400 and $650, which were $300 and $500 when they launched...and they launched in 2020. And with no exclusives due to GamePass, they're basically glorified overpriced computer rigs.

PS5 Pro? Has a disc-less version of the system. And it was released LAST YEAR and it's successor was announced early, meaning it'll launch in early 2017, possibly late 2026.

Problem; the PS5 pro is $700 and the OG PS5 is $550...which is gonna place the PS6 at nearly $1,000.

That's not affordable.

Switch2 released earlier THIS YEAR at only $100 hike-up from the OLED model, and Nintendo said they plan to continue support the Switch 1 (an 8 year old system) for more years to come; best guess? 13 years like the 3DS, especially since the NS1 and NS2 are NEARLY IDENTICAL.

Process this for a second; The Nintendo Switch released in early 2017, and make a slightly stronger and improved version of the Nintendo for the same price POST-LAUNCH (the v2 model upgrade). The OLED model released in 2021, and all they did was minor improvements for $50 extra.

D-didn't the Playstation 5 come out in 2020? And the PS5 Pro in 2024?

It's less than 7 years from the original system's launch and not only were they planning a successor but also a more powerful PS5 during that?

This just seems like wasteful spending, specifically on Sony and Xbox's part.

I mean...less body fat means less natural insulation.

Which means yes, as a trade-off for not overheating as easily during the warm summer, you freeze easier during the winter.
