There is a proper proper name for the USA in Esperanto:

Usono.

It stems from the name Usonia, proposed by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
All the countries whose names are just descriptions have five years to change their names: the United States of America, the United Kingdom, South Africa, the Central African Republic. You too, Austria

Someone in the replies claims China's clean energy development is only for export. This is false. China is installing more clean energy capacity than the rest of the world combined, while *also* exporting clean energy tech that's helping the rest of the world decarbonize.

In a sane world, the government guilty of committing genocide would be dismantled, and forced to pay reparations. Instead they are allowed to corral their victims into a concentration camp and steal their land. We live in the most obscene of all possible timelines.

The UN General Assembly resolution against torture was rejected by only three countries: the US, Israel, and Argentina, who remind the world that they oppose even the most basic principles of humanity.

Israel hasn't ever respected a single ceasefire since their history and they don't intend to start now.
Since the "ceasefire" in the Gaza Strip came into effect on 10.10.25:

Israel has killed at least 345 Palestinians, including at least 119 minors, and about 889 people have been injured.

honest or cynical, the USA, Israel, and Milei's Argentine?
I’m almost impressed by countries voting “against” in a vote against torture. You gotta respect honesty, I guess?

Trust in science will increase when we stop all the money being used to fund anti-science political attacks and spread disinformation.

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.
