Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

In February 1888, Van Gogh left Paris for Arles.
The southern light, he wrote, was ‘sulphur yellow’ and intensely blue; his colors began to burn, pushing him past Paris’s half-tones.

Harriet Tubman was the first woman to lead US Army troops into combat. The battle took place during the Civil War in South Carolina where she lead 150 soldiers and freed 750 slaves.

Since Fort Bragg has some unfortunate naming issues, I want to jump start an effort to someday rename it Fort Tubman.

I don't doubt it. Doctors are overloaded with patients and there are both shortages of doctors and nurses across the board. Combined with the patient overload is the paperwork bureaucracy. Time spent with patients is very little and mistakes happen. Nurses are there to find mistakes and advocate.

Trump Administration doesn't consider being a Registered Nurse and a "professional program".

What kind of bullshit is this? I'm married to a doctor who greatly appreciates RNs and often says: "Nurses keep doctors from killing you!"

As someone who worked retail for a good portion of her life earning money for college, this bothered me. While I applaud the idea of sand in the gears for Home Depot, all this does is torture the poor employees working the checkout and the returns desk. They are hourly employees...(1/2)

Emmanuel Garcia went missing, and rather than check missing person’s reports, Houston PD called ICE.

ICE sent him to the Office of Refugee Resettlement and his mom has been fighting to get him back ever since.

In 1890, Van Gogh painted Daubigny’s Garden, stacking hedges, pond, and sky in rhythmic bands. The scene nears abstraction—form reduced to color and shape. Through this, he expressed calm and harmony while exploring new techniques.
