The more I play the more annoyed I get by the lack of camera control, how superficial your interactions with what look like really interesting and intricate areas are and just the feeling of moving around in the world. The regular introduction of new mechanics has just about kept me onside
I’m (I think) about 2/3rds of the way through Keeper and I don’t really know how I feel about it. It’s gorgeous and has a very distinctive art style and the non-verbal storytelling is very impressive… but it’s just not a huge amount of fun to actually play, mechanically

We will fight them on the quiches
I had it on Vita and it was fantastic. The controls were a bit different but at the time, better than PS2 performance on that gorgeous screen more than made up for it
I didn’t even know Snake Eater came out on 3DS!
We played our first game of SETI last night.

Really enjoyable, kinda feels like peak Eurogame with elements of Brass, Terraforming Mars and Terra Mystica. Extremely well designed and lots of variety. Visually stunning. Looking forward to repeat plays #boardgames
There was a 15 year period where the back page was just substituting the word ‘you’ for ‘Roo’ when writing about Wayne Rooney
Probably my greatest professional achievement is that two throwaway derisory phrases of mine have been fully embraced by colleagues and have taken on a life of their own.

“Big number must go up”

“Vibes-driven decision making”
Who needs three (full) words?

“Can’t we just…?”
In honour of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand.

It’s like someone tried to recreate the Spencer Mansion from Resident Evil in a suburban bungalow
SH2 remake was my first Silent Hill and I absolutely loved it. Looking forward to picking this up in a few weeks!
Me: I should get some decent winter cycling gloves so my hands don’t freeze when the weather turns

Cycling accessory manufacturers: That will be £117 please
Time for my bi-annual reminder the Between The Buried and Me and Bring Me The Horizon are different bands

(The new BTBAM album is pretty good)
This except not only do you have to login, you to have to download the app. Which you have to log in to every time.
I just want to READ about it, stop forcing me to watch a video

Probably my greatest achievement as as parent is that when I say “potatoes” to my kids, they reply with “Boil ‘em, mash ‘em, stick ‘em in a stew”.

Me, a person with ‘Transformation’ in my job title, every day:

“Well, ideally I’d burn it all down and start again but since that isn’t really going to fly…”
What trophy will Big Ange win at Forest next year? Champion’s League or Championship?
It’s all a psyop by Big Chippy to get Edinburghers to order a fish supper tonight 🐟 🍟
The dodgy gift shop on Princes St story is such a great piece of investigative journalism. I’m so glad that my subscription to @edinburghminute.bsky.social (and other subscribing to hyperlocal media in other cities) makes this sort of work possible

First time playing a friend’s copy of Inis tonight.

I absolutely loved it, and the Irish mythology theme and glorious Jim Fitzpatrick artwork were the icing on the cake. I’ve got my own big box edition arriving hopefully in a few weeks! #boardgames
