Surprise layoffs are wrecking morale - and productivity - more effectively than any union ever could.
People will feel unsafe because of this, the most experienced ones, able to find a job elsewhere will seek to escape that suffocating atmoshpere, leaving the juniors and yes-men, alone.

Been looking for a fresh specimen of Leucauge sarawakensis for a long time! Each time we found one, someone walked into its web. Hence, the ex situ shots.

Yeah, that’s a big NOPE for me.
This account is that content scraper from Twitter that built a massive following by ripping off other people’s work and just posting without attribution.
He says it right there in his first post. These people never learn.
This is not the BlueSky way.

Hot wings coming up! - i.e., brown rats hunt bats IN FLIGHT.

While this has serious conservation implications for urban bats, I can't help but be amazed by the rats' dexterity and adaptability.

Here is your Sunday Spider, I think a Psecas chapoda jumping spider. From what I've read, they have a mutualistic relationship with a bromeliad, Bromelia balansae. The spiders live exclusively among the plant's spiny rosettes; in turn their debris/droppings feed the plant. #Arachtober #Bugsky 🌿🐙

As the leaves change color it’s time for everyone’s yearly reminder NOT to rake up the leaves!!!! Leaf litter is important for soil nutrition, healthier plants once spring comes, and biodiversity! Nature developed this yearly ritual for a reason 💖
