And even THEN, the Black officials you wanted to speak DID say things-- when Obama mentioned how he identified with Trayvon Martin, the media flipped their collective lid. When Black congressional leaders criticized ICE or the PATRIOT Act or other items, they were derided.

What you're saying is you want Black officials YOU considered Black leadership to say things you're only just now starting to accept. But they & more historical Black leaders have said it for decades.
