The slope isn't slippery; the frog isn't gradually getting boiled. Within its first hundred days the Trump administration has openly asserted the right/ power to seize and imprison anyone— including political dissidents, including citizens— and deprive them of any legal recourse at all.

Holy shit. Video posted by President Bukele’s team on X shows the moments before his press conference with Trump in which Trump tells him: “We want to do homegrown criminals next. You gotta build about five more places.”

Anybody complacent enough to think that the shitshow in the US could not happen here should take a glance at how quickly elements of the media have rushed to excuse proven lawbreaking by a far-right populist and undermine due process.

Put Amazon Music on Butterworth's Shropshire Lad Rhapsody, and left it to its own devices for the afternoon. It's just finishing up on Gorecki's 3rd, which is either an entirely daft gradual progression or thematic genius. Possibly both.

THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at TAU and the University of Lisbon have developed a groundbreaking nano-vaccine against COVID-19, delivered via nasal spray WITHOUT requiring cold storage. Preclincial studies show the vaccine was effective against ALL major SARS-CoV-2 variants. Let’s talk about that! 🧪🧵⬇️

A 9 year old boy only gets to experience the joy of hearing Sir Mixalot sing Baby Got Back for the first time once. Make it an experience to remember. Make it a double bill with the Stranglers' Peaches.

Do you ever get the feeling the world’s gone crazy? With this in mind, I play the Flintstones theme in the style of the Russian classics.

Woke up to an announcement - "7yo has eaten 8 packets of Haribo and is cutting her hair into a unicorn hairdo."

There's nothing quite like sticking your hand into a blocked drain and wriggling it till the squelching stops to remind yourself that you're alive.

And that so are many other wriggling, squelching things.

You want to know about innocence? There's a whole generation of kids growing up who could simply watch The Long Good Friday without constantly going "Oh my god, it's Charlie from Casualty, what's he playing at? What are they doing to Denzil from Only Fools now? Why's Baby James Bond here?"

Broke the strings on 6yo daughter's ukelele by quite unreasonably trying to tune it. Many, many tears.

Restrung it and tuned it, this time without disaster. Fatherly reputation restored. Ukelele still sounds terrible.
