Biden and the Democrats just tried this. You can't go on a tour saying things are cheaper while people are going grocery shopping every week. We see the prices. Doing this will just seem out of touch and weaken his standing. Rs need empathy and a plan, Trump has neither.
Fox News' Brian Kilmeade: "The president is talking about doing a tour... about what he's doing to make things affordable... If you do that, they'll pass all the other turmoil. They'll look past all the negative press that pops up on the networks and legacy media. They'll say ok, my life's better."

Let's go live to Fox News to see their coverage of the recently released Epstein emails, surely it's the top story on their website...

Seeing those Senate numbers makes me rethink my position on preferring this map. Ds would've been competitive in the 3rd district but it would've been more of an uphill battle than I realized. Might as well take the one safe seat and call it a day.
Utah Republicans had enacted a new gerrymander to win all four seats again, but the court rejected it.

While Dems may have had a chance to win the two Trump+2 & Trump+7 seats in a blue wave, Republicans have typically done much better downballot in Utah.

This isn't an improvement. The legislature's map (their attempt to respond to a prior ruling) was a classic dummymander, it had an R+1 and an R+6 seat and Dems were very likely to pick up both next year. Now they get one packed D+24 safe seat.

This takes a likely 2-2 map and makes it 3-1.
Breaking: A Utah judge just tossed out Republicans’ gerrymandered map and ordered a new map that will include a new safe Democratic seat.

Utah now joins California in helping to cancel out Trump’s gerrymandering.

Even if the latter 3 go through with it, we're likely to have a net wash by the end of the cycle. What a waste of time rearranging the deck chairs.
If you score remap shifts between safe/competitive seats as +/-0.5, here's how the count looks today, to my eye:

CA: Dem +4.5
MO: GOP +1
NC: GOP +0.5
OH: GOP +0.5
TX: GOP +4
UT: Dem +1

That leaves Republicans ahead by half a seat, w/ FL, IN & VA the biggest remaining variables.

11) The discussion about health care was useful PR, but covered up discussion over the power of the purse, which is fundamental. If the WH doesn't have to follow the law, it doesn't matter what you pass.

With the remaining approps bills + CR, Dems still could fight that fight. If they're smart

Doesn't seem like Schumer pushed this and the defectors went around him. Senate isn't the House where leaders rule their caucus.
I know the easy thing is to dunk on Schumer but given where we are we can now say:

1) He made the right call in March not to shutdown the gov't.
2) A one year ACA ext is suicide for Rs and they know it. They'll want to push this well into 2027.

Kaine - Got lang he wanted, almost assuredly retiring in '30.
Rosen - Terrible pol
Fetterman - Fetterman
Shaheen - Retiring
Hassan - "Moderate"
King - "Moderate"
Durbin - Retiring
CCM - Terrible pol
8 Senate Democrats sided with Trump and Republican fascists in throwing 15 million Americans off Medicaid and Obamacare:

Dick Durbin (IL), Maggie Hassan (NH), Tim Kaine (VA), Angus King (I-ME), Cortez Masto (NV), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Jacky Rosen (NV), John Fetterman (PA).

83% of the caucus stuck together. You're almost never going to get unamity in the Seante with staggered terms and retirements. It's beyond frustrating to fold when Ds were holding pocket 10s though. Push more, extract more. Demand a ACA vote first.
Two-thirds of Democrats say their own party makes them feel frustrated. By far the most commonly cited reason is that the party is not pushing back hard enough against Trump. www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...

When you have a winning hand, you gotta fold, after all.
The cave of Senate Democrats is breaking from all outlets now including PBS reporters.

One of the most effective Speakers in US History. She knew how to count votes, sway her caucus, hold them together, and get shit done.

This site will cheer this but Golden was tailor made for his district and the party should be big tent enough for people like him. Would you rather have him or Paul LePage?

I'm going to throw cold water on this image, Ds still have a long term problem in Hispanic communities. They will do well as long as Trump's ICE reign of terror continues but Sherrill still slipped from some Murphy '21 numbers.

Every article and study I see on Gen Z (and Alpha) loneliness all say the same thing -- kids just want to hangout with their friends. Create spaces that allow for that.

If Jay Jones texted that shit in 2016 would a critical mass of Dems have blanked their ballot and let Miyares win? I think so. But they are furious now. Their new standard is: Make the guy apologize, then vote for him, because fuck it, Republicans would.

CONFIRMED: Georgia Democrats have won their first statewide elections for non-federal offices since *2006.*

The two Dem challengers, Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard, have ousted two GOP Republican commissioners on the state's utility commission.

Per @statenavigate.org...

Can Ds get to a supermajority???

We get these wins *and* Trump might bully Rs into ending the filibuster? What a night!

Pretty crazy to see the years where Trump was President or a candidate versus when he was in the wilderness.
Record-breaking turnout at the campus voting precinct today. the energy was unreal, all day.

This is much better than '21
Abigail Spanberger (D) wins the Virginia governor's race, NBC News projects, defeating Winsome Earle-Sears (R).
November 5, 2025 at 12:55 AM
McAuliffe won Loudoun by 11 in '21, Spanbarger won it by 18. Jones is winning by 19. Biden won it by 25 in a 10 point win. If Jones is winning by that much there, where is Miyares making up the votes?
November 5, 2025 at 12:48 AM
Spanbarger is likely to win by a lot tomorrow, probably more than Northam in '17. Jones will *probably* survive.

Sherrill is likely to win by a closer, but healthy margin.

Both of those outcomes were likely the moment Trump was re-elected. Sears and JC would've had a real shot/ KH in the WH.

Honestly, I don't think Trump really cares about the freedom to own firearms. I'd be surprised if he ever picked up a gun prior to running for President.
Most Americans say Trump is not committed to protecting the freedom of the press, protecting freedom of speech, free and fair elections or a fair criminal justice system abcnews.go.com/Politics/hal...
