NEW: A Texas court just blocked the execution of Robert Roberson, a man falsely convicted of a crime he did not commit.

While this is good news, the work for justice isn't over. Robert's legal team is still fighting for a retrial.

BREAKING: A federal judge has temporarily blocked President Trump from deploying federalized National Guard troops into Chicago.

This ruling reinforces what we already knew: It is illegal for the president to use manufactured emergencies to send soldiers into our cities.

We're suing the city of Elmira over its unlawful zoning ordinance that blocked the construction of an affordable, supportive housing development for people with disabilities.

Every New Yorker deserves a safe and affordable place to live, and people with disabilities are no exception.
Aerial photo of Elimra, NY. The headline reads "We are suing Elmira, NY for blocking the construction of supportive housing for people with disabilities". Light brown text on a dark brown background. This quote is attributed to NYCLU attorney Gabriella Larios: "We are challenging Elmira, NY's unlawful zoning ordinance that blocked construction of an affordable, supportive housing development for people with disabilities. After initially supporting the project in early 2023, the city abruptly reversed its decision in late 2023 following neighborhood opposition that relied on harmful stereotypes about people with disabilities. Every New Yorker deserves a safe and affordable place to live, and people with disabilities are no exception. Yet, disability is the most common basis for housing discrimination complaints in our state. Light brown text on a dark brown background. The quote is attributed to Gabriella Larios, staff attorney: "By blocking construction of a much-needed supportive housing development, the city of Elmira and its mayor have turned their back on vulnerable members of their community. Elmira belongs to all of its residents, not just a handful of homeowners. We hope the court will strike down the discriminatory ordinance and allow the project to move forward."

Today marks 3 beautiful years since I got together with the woman of my life. We’ve shared good times and bad and had many struggles come before us, but despite them, we’re still going strong.

I love you, @ladyjazzington.bsky.social Thank you for seeing me for who I am. 🩷

Three humanized drawings of Suitcase from Inanimate Insanity. First one, she appears aggravated about something and looks a little bit scary/intimidating. Next is her standing with her arms behind her back, saying, "Safety clearly isn't being taken seriously enough." The last is of her smiling sweetly while saying, "I feel successfully pandered to!"

Remembering when @jordanscarzfava.bsky.social made this for me. I love Evangelion and I thought it'd be funny.

What's funnier is that this was before Episode 17 was even written and yet...it fits XD

I can’t recommend enough that if you want to become a comic writer, you need to read comics. It’s so tempting to try to shove a wall of text into one page or a ton of scene changes, but that makes it really hard on artists to be able to properly adapt that

Happening now: We are in court fighting the state’s unconstitutional book ban — passed as SB775 —that led to the immediate removal of hundreds of books from school libraries. We will always stand to protect student’s First Amendment right to access information.

The sheriff's office has been using millions of taxpayer dollars for things unrelated to the case like car washes and office renovations, then using those expenses to claim it's "too expensive" to enact court-ordered reforms.

It's not the reforms that are expensive — it's the police's misconduct.

Our 2007 class action lawsuit found the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office engaged in widespread racially discriminatory policing practices and immigration enforcement in Arizona.

Now, a new report revealed the department has deceived the public by inflating their costs of complying with the ruling.

President Trump has relentlessly come after media companies, journalists, and even entertainers for publicly opposing him.

Congress must defend the First Amendment and protect our free press.
Congress: Protect Our Free Press
The Broadcast Freedom and Independence Act is our chance to rein in the FCC's out-of-control attacks on our free press. Congress must act now to pass this bill.

We're in court today challenging a Florida law that gives local law enforcement the power to arrest, detain, and prosecute people based only on how they entered the country.

This law has been blocked while our litigation plays out, and we're asking the court to affirm that decision.

Homeless people are not the enemy.

They can’t “just try harder” their way into housing.

It’s the system that’s failing.

Most of us are one emergency away from being homeless ourselves.

We need affordable housing, universal basic income, healthcare & social supports.

We need a safety net
