Doesn’t feel like it right now, but I think getting over Donald Trump is going to be the easy part compared to the decades-long confrontation with why Donald Trump happened and the constitutional / social reform necessary to heal from it.

Really hard to look at this and all the other examples of bravery and kindness from ordinary people in this moment not think also of the tremendous cowardice exhibited over the past year by some of the richest, most well-protected people in business, media and politics
Let us all have the courage displayed by the residents of Minneapolis.

A magistrate judge found no probable cause to support arrest warrants for 5 people involved in the St. Paul church protest.

DOJ appealed to the 8th Cir.

That appeal led to this remarkable letter from the Chief Judge of the Minnesota district court…

Only speaking personally, but today’s execution isn’t scaring me from protecting our neighbors, as some suggest is ICE’s goal. Nor am I angry with incandescent rage, in that I know such rage is unhelpful. Rather, I feel like it has forced me to truly accept that the same fate might befall me.

This seems significant: not a FORMER DHS official, but a SENIOR (current) one saying the officer who fired acted counter to training.

This is not an admin that admits mistakes. And they are hanging this guy out to dry on Day One.

I think they know this is bad. Really bad.

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

This is clearly unacceptable. And there are indicators in Georgia that the tech is just not yet at a point to keep people safe (blowing by school buses, failing to stop when crossing beltline, etc.). I’d support a full ban on Waymo until the tech improves dramatically.

Vance comes down against “purity tests”—i.e., against criticizing the neo-Nazis. He’s happy to have them as part of his coalition.
JD Vance: "When I say that I'm going to fight alongside of you, I mean all of you — each and every one. President Trump did not build the greatest coalition in politics by running his supporters through endless, self-defeating purity tests."

JD Vance is acting like he’s never read any story about deals w/ devil or wishing upon an evil genie. Even if he becomes president, the high is gonna last all of 5 seconds
Which is why there is actually no choice but to rip out his name and likeness from everything, root and stem.

This needs to be treated like a medieval heresy, not a passing phase. The nation cannot move on without extinguishing his legacy.
