I’m running for lieutenant governor, but I have a problem. Nobody knows wtf a lieutenant governor is.

Space photographer Andrew James McCarthy @ajamesmccarthy.bsky.social has captured many epic images of celestial bodies, but this may be his greatest: a perfectly timed photo of a skydiving friend with the sun behind him (shot w/ equipment revealing great solar detail).

President Trump and New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani emphasized common populist ideals and pledged to work closely together, a sense of agreement that ran afoul of nearly everything their respective political bases have come to expect from them. https://wapo.st/43IO9x9

Georgia state Republicans routinely ignore this kind of bullshit and act like it’s not a “state issue,” but many abuses by Trump (and especially this one) call for condemnation and response at every level of the republic.
Respectfully, what’s the debate?

The president of the United States has called for the trial and execution of members of Congress in a manner that would make Charles I blush.

As a constitutional matter, I fail to see where there is room for reasonable disagreement about what happened yesterday.
President Trump’s recent statements accusing Democratic lawmakers of making “seditious” comments to military and intelligence community members have ignited a free speech debate.

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

Media standards:

1) No Democratic scandal on par with Trump-Epstein, so it’d be biased and unfair to five it much attention.

2) Trump wouldn’t be shamed into resigning and his cult of personality wouldn’t abandon him, so Trump-Epstein wasn’t worth pursuing.

Way too many think that’s journalism.

Corollary to this is: the ultimate weakness of all the trauma-burdened MAGA guys is that they will have nothing compelling left to say when emotionally well-adjusted Democrats acknowledge their failures and chart a new course - MAGA is incapable of the same
Increasingly clear that Dems accepted Biden as the way out in 2020 primarily because of the false belief Trumpism was a blip to be weathered like a storm - now, Dem elites/insiders starting to understand it’s a persistent alternative to Democratic failure to innovate or be bold

Re: this and the optics of demolishing the White House, I think it is fair to say that Trumpist political forces can’t help but self-sabotage at some point because 1) their whole thing is to break taboos and 2) the fix is never quite enough
lol, great, so we're now subsidizing Argentine ranchers at the expense of American ranchers. Seems politically sustainable, no questions from me.
