Once you know what your local Nexstar or Sinclair channel is, watch until you hit an ad break. Jot down who is advertising. Then contact the companies that are advertising, tell them you're boycotting, and feel free to use the attached script, and make changes if you like (in the alt text as well).

Been talking to people quite a bit about how it's easy to understand "cancel Disney+!" but harder to understand the initial and bigger problem is with Nexstar and Sinclair, so lemme make it easier.

Find your local Nexstar channel

While ppl are boycotting Disney a reminder that Sinclair and Nexstar are also the problem. They started this. Canceling Disney subscriptions hurts Disney but does nothing to Sinclair/Nexstar. We also need to boycott companies that advertise on Nexstar and Sinclair stations.

Your reminder that legislation to curb the rights of trans people to use restrooms or do anything else means everyone's behaviour, clothing etc will be opened up to intrusive and unwanted scrutiny and potential challenge in our daily lives. This is not a 'them' issue. Trans rights are human rights.
Actually, around 1pm ET, I'm joining the SciTrek folks on YouTube to talk about it, and talk a bit about the merger and the potential future one with Warner Bros.

Along with critical analysis (and, while not this article, I do sneak fan theories in there) I've done a lot of reports on the mergers.
Ha, typical Star Trek fans. One man's gagh is anothers gross-ass bowl of worms. I liked S3 more than the consensus, it seems, but I enjoyed the back half of the season more. But then again, I'd say Picard S2 was pretty interesting, too. (Reading Patrick Stewart's memoir made me appreciate it more.)
Well, I appreciate you reading the piece even if you disagree. As I wrote at the close, there may be more to come.
Same. My grandma would send me to buy her cigarettes from a smoke shop at the end of the block. I was allowed to keep the change, and the comics spot was close by. My mom also supported my habit because "at least he's reading." I actually avoided reread them for fear they wouldn't hold up.
Periodic reminder everyone: The best thing you can do for a writer or artist who posts their stuff on these hellsites is to read/watch/look/appreciate it. A close second that is free and takes no time at all is reposting/signal boosting their work. A close third is to say a nice thing about it.
Oh wow, I'm going to have get this. The triangle era was when I was the most excited about comics. Give me this, Sal Buscema's Spectacular Spider-Man, and Norm Breyfogle's Batman runs, and I'll be in nerd nostalgia heaven.

Plus like 40 years later, I'll finally get read #4 b/c no shops had it.🥲

It hurt, of course, but more often than not the best things do, I’ve found. You wouldn’t think it could be so, but—as the oldtimers used to say—the world’s tilted, and there’s an end to it.

Just a suggestion to those who don't look like me in all our many beautiful shades: when you say this has never happened before you mean to y'all. When you say "this is not how we are" you mean to each other. My folk can give dates and times this
sh!t has happened to us and yes that's who you are.
He's never living that down. But it seemed to me like Fallon did essentially the same bit as Jon Stewart. But I also never watch those shows.
Today is the 1-year anniversary of my greatest achievement since I started doing interviews for #CBR. Not only did I get to talk to #MingNaWen, a legend, she graced us with a taste of her impression of the #Yinzer accent. #Pittsburgh (Also shoutout to my glorious long hair I cut off b/c it was HOT.)

If you find yourself with fewer streaming options all of a sudden, may I recommend a good book? Two literary short story collections inspired by comics and superheroes, I've also got some other fiction, nonfiction, and even some award-winning poetry. Check them out at the link in the quoted post.
One of my #2024 highlights was that I finally published the second volume of my comics inspired shorty story collection after a delay. It did not do nearly as well as the first one, but even though I took a financial loss, I am so happy it exists.

It is fucked up what they did to the headphone jack
i don't want to hear your most boomer complaint. what's your most millennial complaint?
Hmm, that's usually MY line. I just might. Can I interest you in an essay about Star Trek or maybe a first-person jam about Spider-Man? A review of 9/10ths of S4 of The Morning Show? An ode to 2nd/3rd-run theaters and Superman IV?
