I agree, invoking the CFAA is extremely fucked up.

he changed the passwords to secure the systems he was ON CALL FOR, because it looked like an incident was occurring.

AND, because he still had passwords, due to their sheer incompetence, they are now trying to legally bully him with the threat of the CFAA which is a nuclear bomb of a law

In case y’all were wondering, Portland has always been this way. Here’s a pic I took in 2021.

This after the current president had told PB to “stand by”, and five years later pardoned many of them. Now the same president calls Portland “war ravaged”. It makes you wonder who created that impression in the first place.

This was a particularly violent day in which the Proud Boys hosted a rally, originally scheduled for the waterfront but then moved to northeast Portland. Someone ended up shooting at antifascist counter-demonstrators downtown, and PB attacked people and destroyed several vehicles in a brawl.

I’m supporting you all from across the river but I’m proud of us collectively for not giving the propagandists what they want. It’s so heartening.

👀

“Gem.coop's governance was initially guided by Mike McQuaid.

Gem.coop's Project Leader is not yet elected.

Gem.coop's Project Leadership Committee is not yet elected.

Gem.coop's Technical Steering Committee is not yet elected.

Gem.coop's maintainers are not yet appointed.”

Can confirm this is 100% accurate. Portland is a terrifying place to live.

This is the genius of the Portland protests - they make the claims of lawlessness look not just wrong, but comical

I wish to see more journalists doing what @hellgatenyc.com and @404media.co are doing and fewer doing the solo patreon route. I want to pay a collective for my news not one person. Seems like a successful model.

Truth be told I love that we got an anti-ICE inflatable frog this year and not the pepe-themed proud boy we had in 2020.

Yep! I walk here most days. On a clear day you can see two mountains—Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood. Love the Pacific Northwest.
