Someone should write an alternate historical novel where all of Stephen Miller's racist ideas for immigration restriction were in place back when his ancestors came here.

We wouldn't have harnessed the atom, but I guess the former Nazi scientists might've still gotten us to the moon.
🧵 An alternate historical novel was written by Philip Roth, THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA. Limited series by David Simon. Stephen Miller should watch it.

trump has a billion terrible qualities but his worst may be his simpleminded gullibility and the ease with which he can be manipulated
Trump: "Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed. It sounds a little strange but President Putin was very generous in his feeling toward Ukraine succeeding, including supplying energy, electricity and other things at very low prices."

ProPublica Managing Editor @gingerthompson.bsky.social set out to write a David-vs.-Goliath narrative about Albany, Georgia’s response to COVID-19.

But she realized there were more enduring questions and challenges facing Albany. They were about race and power.
I Started Covering the COVID-19 Crisis in Albany, Georgia. This Moment Made Me Realize There Was a Bigger Story to Tell.
The virus had killed about 38 people, most of them Black, by April 2020. But when a white judge died, local officials made sure to announce her name.

It’s possible that Taylor Swift solved the masculinity crisis but even if she didn’t, the end of this video had me 🥹😭
In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.

Brett Kavanaugh (September 2025): The facts and how they relate to the law don’t matter. Assume ICE and other federal forces always act with integrity, always respect rights, and consistently impose minimal burden.

Kavanaugh in a footnote in today's opinion says "the officers must not make interior immigration stops or arrests based on race or ethnicity."

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

So hard. Hard to have a job you hate and suck at and that actually impacts Americans' lives and safety. Good riddance.
Actually working for a living is hard for Republicans.
Dan Bongino has a nice cry on Fox & Friends: "I gave up everything for this. I mean, my wife is struggling... I stare at these 4 walls all day in DC, you know, by myself, divorced from my wife. Not divorced, but I mean, separated. And it's hard."
