I donated to his campaign. I was pissed off when it was revealed he worked as a merc, and debating what to do when the tattoo & queerphobic posts came out.

I contacted ActBlue, asked for it to be returned, got an acknowledgement of the return a few hours later; 2 days later it was in my account.

I managed to eat the equivalent of 1.25 square for the taste test, now for a sugar coma a la Westley only without stray old dude bunny Cocoa Puffs.

Dubai-style Rice Krispies treat: With the other stuff the rice crispier were less prominent. The two pinches of salt in the shredded phyllo help balance the sweetness. The middle layer isn’t well stuck together, so structurally could use help. It is delicious though.

S’mores Rice Krispies treat: Really tall for a better marshmallow to chocolate ratio which others might prefer to be lower. High graham flavor w/ good s’mores taste. Not sure my toasting some marshmallows made a difference. I wonder if torching the top would work or if the cereal would catch fire.

Black sesame and brown butter Rice Krispies treat: A proper amount of black sesame flavor but it’s a bit “wetter” and could have used a cup more of Rice Krispies to try to keep it crisper. The freeze dried strawberry bits should be smaller as they’re now chewy and bigger pieces do disrupt.

Earl grey Rice Krispies treat: A nice amount of earl grey tea flavor. Not too much and not too little. Could use a touch of bonus vanilla paste or if you wanted to be fancy, drizzle white chocolate on top. Average height.

So this is a hybrid of various recipes to make Dubai-style Rice Krispies Treats. The kataifi and pistachios are in a layer in the middle. I put pistachio cream into the melted marshmallows before adding the cereal, chocolate chips, and some chopped pistachios. The chips do melt into a yummy mess 🙂

Next up is King Arthur Baking’s S’mores Rice Krispies Treats. I did try to see if I could add some toasted mini marshmallows in the 86g part but it was pretty sticky and messy.

Used a 9” pan and managed to get pretty exactingly fitted graham cracker layer.

Chocolate chips melted in the microwave and spread on the graham crackers.

I’m going to note that shrinkflation is presumably the cause of recipes using 12 ounce bags of marshmallows (340g) when the bags in stores are 10 ounce (283g) which is why there’s a bonus bowl of marshmallows included in my prep. Taste test results will be added later when they’re all prepped.

First up Black Sesame and Brown Butter Rice Krispies Treats from Kat Lieu’s 108 Asian Cookies. The strawberries are a nice color pop and there’s a bit of red miso. I’m fond of the color of black sesame desserts, which I grew up with. It’s the Asian cookies and cream color equivalent.
