"Say You ROM", a Japanese series of CD-ROMs for Windows that adds the voice of a famous actress to your computer. This volume's character is Anri Okumura (played by Mami Kingetsu), and contains hundreds of WAV files tied to various system events.

It also has a full set of voices for Microsoft Golf.

It's objectively strange that Chrono Trigger is the name of a JRPG series about time travellers dealing with a crisis, and Time Crisis a series of light gun games.

It's official. Defenders of the Legacy: A Bloody Roar Fanzine is live and 100% free to download!

Over 150 pages of Bloody Roar art, writing, and... even a couple music tracks I put together. There might be more on that on my YouTube channel later.

Is there a specific term for when a game tries to communicate an ingame characters personality through possibly meta-gameplay elements. So like say the game has you select a favourite colour and certain characters in the game will dislike you if you select a colour that *they* don't like.

I think a lot of people in the center genuinely mistake baseline leftists and progressives for like 60s era hippies instead of just boring professionals and blue collar workers who took Mr. Rogers shit seriously lol.

Technology through my childhood / early adulthood was like an upward curving graph where one year you had VHS and the next dvd, then suddenly blu rays were a thing wow, streaming! And now it's like the curve steeply drops down to overpriced enshittified everything and every new advance fuckin sucks
It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

For real. Read it, even if you don’t give a rat’s ass about printers.
