Chief Exec @teenagecancertrust.bsky.social ex-Chair Children & Young People’s Cancer Coalition, Trustee of CAST. Big fan of the things people do for causes they love. Fast talker. Slow runner. To be found in Staffs, North Wales or London…or on a train
This thread has made me chuckle, I especially love the suggestion to call it the Tipping Forecast…
A radio programme like the Shipping Forecast but it’s called Bin Day and it just reads out every single council in the country’s bin schedule

Great first meeting of the CYP Cancer Taskforce charities sub-group, exploring how we can inform and support the work of the Taskforce and cancer plan. Lots of enthusiasm for how we move forward, ideas for next steps, and shared priorities across both children and teenagers and young adults 1/2

Huge thanks to everyone - artists, managers, producers, promoters and…from Friday ticket buyers….making the 2025 #TeenageCancerGigs possible, making sure
@TeenageCancerTrust.bsky.social can raise the funds we need so young people and their families don’t face cancer alone.

100% this. As the mother of a young child with SEND the extra labour is intense. Thanks for highlighting @hannahfearn.bsky.social
I wrote about the way the SEND crisis is quietly unpicking women's lives - destroying careers, dismantling relationships, damaging physical and mental health.

And all this goes on unacknowledged.

Long read for The i Paper:

Today I get to spend time with four of the people I love the most in the whole world. That’s blooming marvellous ❤️

Plus my Mum is bringing homemade cake. 🍰

Wishing everyone a happy - and ideally cake-filled - Saturday 🥰

This. This is what properly person-centred holistic care looks (and feels) like.

Love this. Thank you @david3012.bsky.social for sharing and thank you @stleonardshospice.bsky.social @hospiceuk.bsky.social for all you do.
An incredible story on many levels. The truly holistic nature of hospice care, the support we have from our communities, the need to care for whole families, the importance of cuddles we take for granted. ⁦

Delighted to see this partnership working launch today between the ace @teenagecancertrust.bsky.social team & the team at Marie Curie.

Creating something better than either of us can do alone. Stronger together 💪

What I also love is no-one asked me. The team just knew what made sense 👏

Gisèle Pelicot is an absolute boss.

There is no end to the respect I have for her.

The strength and dignity she has shown in the face of what must be a devastating and torturous personal trauma, is awe inspiring.

The ongoing crisis in hospice funding should demand immediate action.

I know there’s no magic money tree but the reliance on donations to make dignified palliative and end of life care happen is baffling at best.
Proud to have taken part in ITV's timely investigation into the crisis in hospice funding.

The film airs the night before MPs will vote on the AD bill.

I hope every one of them will watch it to see how appallingly the NHS currently fails dying patients through dire funding of palliative care 😔
Really pleased to say I am
presenting an ITV programme on hospice and end of life care.

Since my mum received hospice care a decade ago I’ve been investigating the state of the sector and its lack of funding.

Keeping Care Alive: Hospices in Crisis? will air on ITV, 8:30pm, Thursday 28th November

So, I've just created a new group on LinkedIn, to help diversify speaker panels at Charity events, so that we don't see the same faces everywhere on repeat. Please help spread the word: www.linkedin.com/groups/13127...
