I was walking up to the store yesterday and noticed that a water area looked different than it usual-
Snow? Not here
Soap bubbles- not sure where the bubbles or dish soap were added
A little water feature that has water flowing into it. It is a concrete tub area with pretty blue and white tiles on the back. There are piles of bubbles- almost like fluffy snow.

On my drive home today. Never have I seen anything like it. Had to do a quick search to see what the internet had to say. It’s a phenomenon called cloud iridescence (occurs in thin clouds made of small water droplets/ice crystals scattering sunlight).

A few years ago I discovered the nearby heron and egret rookery. I love to go there in May when the birds are nesting. It is fun to watch the birds and also to listen to them.

One class down - two to go. I am back to blues again but at least it seems to be a more cheerful sort of glowing blue snowflake crystal pattern.

(Senate meeting today so this is actually pretty paradoxical since the meeting made me depressed and anxious.)

FINALLY GOT IT!

I've taken well over 100,000 pelican pictures, maybe 200,000.

Over 20,000 the past month alone.

Today, I snagged "The One That Got Away"

In my infinite optimism, I give you, a very rare:

Fish success story.

a pelican with their mouth open, and two fish are above to fall into their pouch, but one is above another and may take a path out the pelicans mouth is closed, and there's a fish out the pelican looks at the camera, miffed, the fish is far away from its head at this point the pelican opens its beak and tries to go for it, but i can report back it failed, the fish was long gone

Great Blue Heron last week on riprap next to Trader Vic's Restaurant, Emeryville, California. It is leaning forward probably looking for fish or crabs trapped between the rocks. The water is relatively low and you can see some of the seabed through the water.
