I wonder... would there be any interest in some F# event / (un)conference in 2026?
I always wanted to do something similar to F# Creators Workshop (which @dsyme.bsky.social organised years ago in Cambridge) or Elm Camp (which has been for last couple of years)

"Most vibe code projects are just tech debt factory"

my dude, any software development project is. AI actually has quite a great potential to help removing tech debt, this is great use case for Continuous AI.

How people are coming up with those imaginary scenarios?

In any sane organization developer merging change is always responsible for the code - it doesn't matter if he raw do...coded thing as it was 2020 or vibe coded it.

AI is just tool - nothing less and nothing more than that.
Actual Engineering Manager here.

Everyone talks about Vibe Coding, but I don't hear a lot about Vibe Debugging. My nightmare is that something burps out a mess of code and *no one is responsible for it*. If one of my people writes it... well they get to fix it. If no one writes it.......

I don’t know Yegge, but I know Geoff… this whole crypto thing is absolutely disappointing and disgusting.

But how Muricans will survive when Ozempic prices will go up? Their society will collapse.
Trump just placed a tariff on most of the EU of 10% that will increase to 25% in June unless they agree to sell him Greenland.

This is mad king shit.

Introducing `steve`: a CLI for driving macOS apps.

Like playwright for browsers it's drivable by code agents. Tell them to "manually test using steve".

Hey slightly serious post, please share if you can: if you are a #software developer in the #Australia area and are looking for a #tech job, please reach out to me. I'm looking for mid or senior engineers who excel at constraint based optimizations, typescript, and k8s. Sound like you? Get in touch.

I could say usual “this has always been a case” (which is true); but part of the issue is that this is not what we’ve been teaching kids at universities, junior developers or even many seniors.
The most valuable skill with Ai coding isn't knowing where the semicolons go, but systems thinking. To provide effective direction, the human still needs to understand constraints, edge cases, logic and ethics etc.

Yet again, Elon Musk is pushing the insanely racist Great Replacement Theory that has directly inspired several mass murders from his fellow white supremacists.

The richest man in the world who controls a massive media platform is *repeatedly* pushing this garbage and it should be a global scandal.

What if more productivity in software development will be result of smaller, leaner, more agile teams created because leadership will believe that fewer developer per product are needed due to AI?

Ofc, the improvement will have nothing to do with AI itself, but with higher velocity of smaller teams
My coding prediction for the year is that by end of 2026 agents will be good enough to write 90% or so of all code for production, and developers won’t all lose their jobs but there will be a prolonged mass grief event as they mourn the loss of hand-writing most code, an uneconomical activity

I feel AI is very good tool (and can be even better) for software developer and at the same time I’m very discouraged by the current state of AI discourse (both from AI fanboys and naysayers), kinda hard to find a place for reasonable, not-hype-driven takes.
