My favorite part of Thanksgiving with Brad's family is when I express how important it is not to go into a bathroom if you think you're about to die because it's a difficult removal for funeral directors.

My last living grandparent died. I thought he was dead already. I never met him, and everything I knew about him was learned through decades of physical and mental abuse passed down through the family by the hands of his son.

Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.
