I'm ambivalent about the speed limit. Maybe in the US 20-25 mph / 30-40 kph makes more sense than 25 kph. Though I'm in an area with mostly 20 mph roads. I know there are people than sing the praises of 28 mph bikes to ride in mixed traffic more smoothly.

The more I see discussion about what is an e-bike the more I become a supporter of the EU regs. Pedal assist & <25 kph = bike | Throttle = e-moped/moto. The class 1-3 system in much of the US with some throttle allowed is chaos.

I really wish stories like this would specify what types of e-bikes are involved because there's a big difference between pedal assist bikes and the Sur-Ron bikes I see kids ripping around on. And the issue there for me is why are parents letting their kids have what are essentially motorcycles?
