The Constitution means whatever the hell 5 Republican Party operatives in black robes say it means.
Ugh. SCOTUS just instructed that states lack the authority to keep federal candidates off the ballot to enforce the Fourteenth Amendment.

It is not a stretch to worry that a 2028 SCOTUS would similarly decide that states lack the authority to enforce the Twenty-Second Amendment.
President-elect Donald Trump has mused more than once that he might like to run for re-election again in 2028 and seek a third term. The Constitution's 22nd Amendment does not allow it. Here’s why. nyti.ms/48YsMZO
Remember when we mocked the press for falling for the carefully cultivated everyman image of George W. Bush, Scott Brown, and Glenn Youngkin because they (respectively) owned a cattleless Texas ranch, drove a pick up truck, and wore puffy vests?
Hassett uses language (“timeout”) typically describing how you deal with a tantrum-throwing toddler.
The NY Times has been awful for my entire adult life and I’m nearly 50.
Always punching down because those people can’t deny you access.

“Herr Hitler in the Clouds” was published two weeks before the Nazi invasion of Poland.
Privilege is the word that eluded me before coffee. Well said.
White conservatives are the only cohort whose rage is taken as a given and therefore normalized.
The NY Times is now state media.
What is the Times doing calling this extrajudicial murder spree “cartel strikes”? On what evidence do they ape the killers’ propaganda?

Its not like No Kings was a major event akin to another tidbit in But Her Emails coverage.
I asked the NYT why it played the “No Kings” parades—which drew an estimated 5 million+ protesters—with two small photos below the fold on their Sunday Page One, teasing to a story on page 23.

Their spokesperson gave me this answer, excerpted in today’s Laurels/Darts.

Or as I like to say: “In today’s stopped clock news.”
“No federal education funds to schools named after Confederate traitors.”
Republicans have become increasingly brazen about their gaslighting as more and more newsrooms become controlled by partisan hacks.

Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!
