UI/UX animation dude. creating and consuming. tweets about politics, movies, tv, headphones, action figures, video games, and a general malaise.
No amount of additional training or body cams is going to stop this. No matter how far the regime falls into fascism, centrists act like there’s always a sensible half-measure. Abolish ICE is the only moderate position!
ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”

What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.

I’m not recommending it, but you could do a lot worse than crocs on frozen melted snow. This is what this winter has taught me

New GHOST IN THE SHELL anime looks good! Honestly this is the most excited I’ve been for a new GitS series since SAC

Just to be clear “the left” didn’t lose young men to maga. The centrist Dems did.

Only had a few hours with it, but new iPadOS is kinda annoying. All kinds of weird UI behaviors that no one asked for and don’t improve the experience.

Wild how all these genius billionaires gobbled up big media whole and then did the exact same thing with their new fiefdoms. No one had a novel idea to do actual journalism. It's all just degrees of "bleed them dry of audience/credibility and hollow them out then turn them into AI slopaganda".
News: The Washington Post is preparing to slash upwards of 300 staffers, incl sports, metro and foreign desks @nataliekorach.bsky.social reports.

“The newsroom is being punished for absolute incompetence from the owner and publisher,” one staffer told @status.news

Looming cuts at The Washington Post threaten to decimate key coverage areas as staffers question the motives and commitment of billionaire owner Jeff Bezos.

My feeling from the responses by Dems like Obama is that they have no plan for any of this fascism and for every Good or Pretti killed by ICE they will only offer us more thoughts and prayers.

Steering the conversation back to immigration enforcement in any ways is doing propaganda for the regime. The real purpose of ICE is to foment an insurrection among the gen pop to declare martial law and suspend elections. Anything that distracts from this fact is a win for the fascists.

Prosecute ICE is where Dems should be at next.

The White House posted a digitally altered image showing a demonstrator involved in interrupting a church service in Minnesota last weekend crying as she was arrested on Thursday.

A previous version of the image, also posted by an official government account, showed her looking forward calmly.
White House Posts Altered Photo Showing Arrested Minnesota Protester Crying
The New York Times ran the image posted by Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, as well as the one posted by the White House through an A.I. detection system. It concluded that the White House’s version showed signs of manipulation.

It’s bad enough as Americans that we have to constantly deal with trump’s unique brand of entitled, angry stupidity. It is incessant. It’s another thing to helplessly watch as he exports it across the entire world in the form of childish sabre rattling and delusional self-aggrandizement. 1/2

I worry that people are relying too heavily on the fact that all this is unpopular in the polls. Most autocrats are unpopular with their people. Once you control every branch of government, muzzle the press, and start murdering your own citizens with impunity, you don't need to be popular.

Clear-eyed, fact-based, and written to explain to normies. No “both sidesing.” No “Trump officials disagree.”
No gaslighting that what we can see with our own eyes might not be true.

This is journalism. Well done, @people.com

Anyone who wields a gun with state power should never be allowed to conceal their face. Pass it on.

Several people have died in ICE custody and because of ICE detention. Renee Goode’s murder is a crime everyone could plainly see but make no mistake, there are many families who will never see their father, mother, sibling, or parent again because of ICE.

But leaking these “left is weak” quotes anonymously to a conservative political outlet is the height of strength.
So if I have this straight, Axios went out and found a couple of centrist congressional Democrats angry that their party is being critical of the takeover of Venezuela, and these members are so tuned in to the pulse of the voters that they would only speak anonymously

"It looks weak": Some Democrats want their party to shut up and clap for Maduro's capture
"Everything Trump touches must be bad according to the base," fumed one House Democrat.
