IL-10 sensing by lung interstitial macrophages prevents bacterial dysbiosis-driven pulmonary inflammation and maintains immune homeostasis
Immune-microbiota interactions are required to maintain host homeostasis. Kim et al. identified that steady-state sensing of IL-10 by interstitial macrophages (IMs) prevents spontaneous lung inflammat...

GM-CSF derived from alveolar type 2 cells promotes CD301b+ cDC2 generation and allergic airway inflammation
AT2 cell–derived GM-CSF is essential for establishing a terminally differentiated CD301b+ lung cDC2 compartment and type 2 immunity.

Highlight of a study by Teruyuki Sano and team in @nature.com revealing potential mechanisms by which commensal-specific T cells can contribute to extraintestinal inflammation

Gut microbiota-specific T cells induce neuroinflammation through molecular mimicry - Nature Reviews Immunology
White et al. show that microbiota-specific T cells are licensed by gut inflammation to infiltrate the central nervous system, where cross-reactivity with self-antigens leads to neuropathology.

Big congratulations, Teruyuki Sano and his team on their publication in @nature.com ! It was great to collaborate this wonderful study with his team.
We continue to contribute more to science together, especallly in the field of immunology!

Gut inflammation promotes microbiota-specific CD4 T cell-mediated neuroinflammation - Nature
Dysregulated CD4 T cells that recognize gut commensal antigens are able to infiltrate the central nervous systems and are re-stimulated by host proteins, resulting in neuroinflammation.

Increased CSF drainage by non-invasive manipulation of cervical lymphatics - Nature
The outflow pathway of cerebrospinal fluid into lymph nodes in the neck and how non-invasive mechanical stimulation can enhance drainage and restore impaired outflow in aged mice are explored.

Why do the brain’s professional phagocytes stop clearing amyloid in Alzheimer’s disease? Can we restore microglial superpowers & rescue dying neurons in AD? YES, by stopping DGAT2-mediated lipid droplet formation! Checkout our latest manuscript @cp-immunity.bsky.social 👇🏼

Amyloid-β induces lipid droplet-mediated microglial dysfunction via the enzyme DGAT2 in Alzheimer’s disease
Why microglia stop reducing amyloid deposits from Alzheimer’s disease (AD) brains is unknown. Prakash, Manchanda, et al. show that microglia increase their lipid droplets and lose their phagocytic cap...

It's hard to imagine that Jeongseok will no longer be part of your lab. He has grown tremendously as a scientist under your mentorship. Now, it's an exciting time for him to begin building an independent career. He will thrive at UNIST, one of top research institute in Korea. it's a well-deserved.
