I haven't read Elizabeth Strout, so I can't speak to similarities, but The Emperor of Gladness is my favorite book(published)this year. For all its bleakness, it's full of love, found family....not for everyone, but I love Vuong.

SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.

Last night, I finished THE ESSENTIAL HORROR OF JOE R. LANSDALE, a new collection out this week from @TachyonPub.

What a great collection! Every single story was superb: engaging, skillfully told and a little bit weird. Lansdale is simply a masterful storyteller.
