I might have shared this before but here we are again. Zak aimlessly wandering alone for days, from Clipped.

He got into the habit of scratching his itchy chin, now overgrown with stubble. He hadn’t spoken to another living person since Nyx. The only voices he heard were the pre-recorded diatribes and commercials on the billboards. He could hear them long before he could see them, and he began to answer their rhetoric with his own counterpoints. Eventually the conversations, such as they were, devolved into echoing and reciting everything the boards were saying seconds before it was said. The only time he faltered was when the boards spoke of crows. That was random, unpredictable. Zak had started to grow anxious about the crows. He wanted them to crow again if only to hear something new, but also, the sudden change startled him. Still, it was a strange comfort. More than once, he feared the crow would not return to the billboards. By the time he got to the next city, Zak was a blithering idiot: sleep-deprived, famished and starved for intellectual stimulation. He stumbled down the sidewalks, twitchy, and quick to give people space. His stomach grumbled and complained. He needed food, water, shelter, someone to tell him a story and listen to his own."

In Clipped, Zak often lost track of time, having no real way to keep it. Sleeps a lot.

In Coven Thing, they keep time as they do in their respective time periods, & also follow the moon phases cuz that's when their magic is the most powerful & gathering the coven to meet is easier.

If it behooves the environment. i.e. in Clipped, Zak had a lot of walking outdoors, alone, so I liked to play with the day/night cycle, as well as weather. In fact I would guess I don't think so much about the time of day rather than the weather itself. It can still rain at night.

In Coven Thing, the coven spans different generations and geographical locations. The four main characters range from living in the 1600s to the 1990s. They can only meet in their covenspace which is outside of time.
