Two things can be true 1) calling the adoption of Calibri (which was standard for Microsoft for a long time before they recently moved to Aptos) a diversity move is blatantly nonsensical. 2) I despise Calibri as a font and am aghast that it was being used by diplomats in official communications.

My first thoughts on reading the headline are "foolish and hateful, I'm glad they were stopped" but then I read which island they were looking at and realized that "planned" was an incredibly generous term. Like, the biggest island? White supremacy, among many other things, creates such delusions.

Watch A House of Dynamite—it should have been a series that let the ideas and consequences flow a bit more. It's wild how some fairly big-name stars only got like a minute of airtime. Some dialogue, particularly in the second half, needed help. And the ending was a disappointment.

This is absurd and cruel and utterly beneath decent human beings. Trans people deserve everything, especially after what we have put them through.

The thing that amuses me most about this Cracker Barrel logo thing - is the remake is 100% in line modernization trends for logos. It's easier for branding, it's immediately reminiscent of the old logo - I mean, its boring but it makes sense. Its the most inoffensive update. And people are offended.

Saw a clip about 4Lokos, and I remember when I first heard about them. I have never been a big drinker, but I was like "oh, that sounds like a horrible idea"

I wish I had saved it, someone posted recently that Newsom is like the TRex in Jurassic Park. We're totally fine when he's attacking the other scary dinosaurs, but you don't want his attention turned on you. This enemy of your enemy is not your friend. Don't mistake him for your savior.

Our education on historic authoritarian regimes is lacking because it often only explores the most horrific aspects - leaving out the less affected people who still went to work, weren't targeted, etc. It's made it harder for us to recognize the arrival of fascism.
