Die Scanner Daten, auf denen das basiert, haben nicht einmal Packungsgrößeninformation. Der Großhandles- und Erzeugerpreisindex sind Aggregatzahlen über mehr als nur den Lebensmittelbereich. Damit kann man Lebensmittelpreise entlang der Wertschöpfungskette nicht aufdrößeln.

Scannerdaten /Elektronische Kassendaten Die Indizes für Lebensmittel werden seit dem Jahr 2022 auf Basis von Scannerdaten berechnet. Dabei handelt es sich um Umsatz- und Absatzdaten, die wöchentlich von den größten Handelsketten an Statistik Austria geliefert werden. In diesen Daten sind alle gängigen Rabattaktionen enthalten, die an den Registrierkassen automatisch abgezogen werden, zum Beispiel „1+1 Gratis“, Prozent-Rabatte oder Rabattmarken. Auf Basis der Scannerdaten werden sowohl Preisindizes als auch Durchschnittspreise berechnet. Die Veränderung der Durchschnittspreise zwischen zwei Zeitpunkten und die Entwicklung des für die entsprechenden Artikel berechneten Verbraucherpreisindex (VPI) sind nicht zwangsläufig identisch. Die Gründe hierfür liegen in der Datenbasis, Methodik und Gewichtung. Das Produktsortiment, das in die Berechnung des Durchschnittspreises einbezogen werden kann, unterscheidet sich von dem, was für die Indexberechnung verwendet wird. Fehlende Packungsgrößeninformationen in den Scannerdaten beeinträchtigen die Indexberechnung nicht, führen jedoch zum Ausschluss der betroffenen Produkte aus der Durchschnittspreisberechnung. Bei der Indexberechnung werden nur Produkte berücksichtigt, die in mindestens zwei Monaten des vorherigen Zeitraums Umsätze erzielt haben. Für die Durchschnittspreisberechnung gibt es kein solches Kriterium. Multilaterale Indizes, die Scannerdaten verwenden, berücksichtigen Umsatz- und Regionalgewichte, während Durchschnittspreise nach verkauften Mengen (Absatz) gewichtet werden. A teenage boy was walking home in Minneapolis yesterday when four masked men jumped out of a van & questioned him - with no parent or guardian present.

He was bundled into the van & taken away.

Bystanders heard the boy say: “Can I just go home?”

I don’t know how America comes back from all this.
