This time of year always has me edgy as I await the results to see what my cancer is doing. And the answer is nothing at the moment. A bit like the Scarlet Pimpernel. They seek him here they seek him there. Is he even there? So another year of not giving a toss. Smiles all round tonight.

Blind freddy could see what Frydenberg was being political
Frydenberg citing what Murray Watt said in the past. Well here's Watt this time last year on this issue and on Frydenberg himself

"I don't think we can separate the fact that he has a very long career as a Liberal Party politician, and that is no doubt one of the reasons he's made these comments."

Happy birthday to Ludwig. The world would be a poorer place without him. Listenung to his music has brought me joy, the odd moment of sorry and even once to tears of happiness at its beauty.
PERSON OF THE DAY. 16 December 1770. Musical genius Ludwig Van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany (birth registration was on 17 December). He’s one of the most admired composers in the history of Western classical music. There is a museum, the Beethoven House, in the place of his birth.

Aged care reforms built on the myth of the cashed up boomer risk leaving those who most need support unable to afford it. Rising fees, a fragile Support at Home system and pressure on families point to a policy failure we will all feel, writes Kathy Eager @k_eagar #AgedCare #AusPol
A beginners guide to Australian aged care policy in 2025
Stereotypes about wealthy baby boomers are skewing aged care policy. New fees, the shift to Support at Home, and pressures on community services risk leaving many older Australians without affordable, safe support. The consequences will be felt across families, hospitals and future generations.

Point 1: Obviously it is evil to massacre civilians for being Jewish.

Point 2: Obviously Israel's genocidal atrocities must continue to be opposed, and will continue to be opposed.

Today the worst people in the world are trying to pretend Point 1 and Point 2 are contradictory.

A ttrue, true hero. Guts.
Because it’s not getting reported on enough:

Muslim fruit shop owner Ahmed al Ahmed, father of two, was the hero who bravely tackled one of the Bondi Beach shooters and took away his gun.

He saved lives during a major terror attack. Say his name, and honor the lives of the victims of the shooters

We need choice, not a duopoly.
Electoral laws passed by the duopoly earlier this year create an uneven playing field at elections, in their favour. They undermine your voting choice and our democracy. @zoedaniel.bsky.social and I are challenging the laws in the High Court. #unconstitutional #auspol

Yep
Yesterday was a dark day in our nation's history.

But we are stronger than the cowards who did this.

We refuse to let them divide us.

Australia will never submit to division, violence or hatred - and we will come through this together.

All love to those and their friends and family in shock and mourning today.

This is incredible (good news too): “After a 40% fall in 2024 in battery equipment costs, it’s clear we’re on track for another major fall in 2025…The economics for batteries are unrecognizable, & the industry is only just getting to grips with this new paradigm”
