So none of the stunning Aurora pics I've seen this morning were taken in Ottawa. Which means it's not FOMO from going to bed early, it's FOMO from living under a near ever-present blanket of cloud this winter. 😤

NOAA SWPC just issued a rare G4 / SEVERE geomagnetic storm watch for Monday night! This is the highest level of geomagnetic storm watch that exists (no such thing as a G5 watch). Stay tuned for more updates from me as I compile some longform posts to give you all the details

Between city plows, private plows, and residents, I wouldn't call this bike lane well maintained.
Hoping like hell the city does snow removal soon.

I was able to ride on a nicely snow packed side street tonight.
Gave me a tiny idea of what it must be like to ride in Oulu, Finland, where they care about people on bikes, and have built over 900km of safe, connected, groomed cycling routes.

Gave me a tiny idea of what it must be like to ride in Oulu, Finland, where they care about people on bikes, and have built over 900km of safe, connected, groomed cycling routes.

I give a grade of D- for the snow removal on the Scott St bike lanes and sidewalks today.
Bike lanes that are a mere 8km of the "prioritized" winter cycling network.
It would have been an F, but I think there was one plow pass on either side.
