"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

This part in the story about the arrest of the alleged pipe bomber sticks out. These purchases were done long before the event. These are common household items. The FBI having access to that level of data for that period of time is alarming.

I can't stop thinking about the purported drug smugglers being murdered by the US military. The punishment for drug offenses isn't the death penalty. This is just bloodlust and men in suits playing with lives they don't care about. It's truly grotesque and gravely compromises this country.

Pretty startling that not only does the robot shoot him, but it does so at the prompt of 'role-play a robot that *would like* to shoot me' (i.e., not a prompt of a robot that *does* shoot). Indicates that it acts not on direct commands but rather takes less definite scenarios and plays them out.
