Knowing her family history of grifting + attention seeking, the fact that the account that reported on this was created just days before the incident, + how off-rubric the essay was, I believe Samantha Fulnecky failed on purpose to create a lucrative media cycle based on manufactured outrage

This is THE SAME NYC that had LAWS to make sure Chinese men did not have families

You can’t tell if someone is disabled just by looking at them.

There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”.

You are not entitled to a person’s entire medical history just so you can decide whether to believe them or not.

People are not faking disability, most are trying to fake being well.

The fact that CBER's chair does not understand the difference between pneumonia and pneumococcal is embarrassing. And not knowing that and still thinking he knows enough to assess the way the vaccines are testing - or the evidence about their effectiveness - is empty arrogance.

Fuckin people watching Netflix making prop bets on what minute of the episode we’re first gonna see Vecna. People betting on whether it’s gonna be a Toyotathon commercial or an Activia commercial. Just a little QR code in the bottom corner of every show asking you to bet on everything.

If your wage leads to a "tight" budget that still allows you to live in a "well-off Boston suburb" it is not poverty.
1/ I may write something about this, but I've noticed some folks, notably Noah Smith, but others as well, deriding the $140,000=poverty in today's US guy.

So I thought I'd work out what a family of 4 budget would look like in my well-off Boston suburb (Brookline).

TL:DR--pretty damn tight...
