which makes it a bit funnier. You get things like Fernite Carbide, Crystalline Carbonide, Tungsten Carbide, Titanium Diborite, etc, and the actual 'armor' modules that they shove in with the exception of one(which is Crystalline Carbonide because its lighter) are all just variations of steel plate

EVE Online gets a bit silly with it, but *largely* acknowledges 'yeah, armor is mostly steel with ceramic composite supplements and nanite gel repair systems shoved between them.... the crazy materials are mostly just construction materials instead of armor.' it both jumps the shark and doesn't.
