Reddit: "The people who are studying the impact of COVID literally talk about it in the past tense, as if we are building monuments to some past event. Like “wow we should learn from COVID to listen to disabled people” you mean the disabled people trying to tell you covid is still ongoing??!"

XFV.* grew to 10% nationally, however all the recent samples are from Ontario and recent volumes are very low, so that could just be a cluster from a healthcare or aged care setting.

XFG.* "Stratus" continued to dominate, but fell to 67%.

NB.1.8.1 "Nimbus" rose slightly to 18%.

And you can wear an n95 (or better) respirator. l

as we (should have) learned since the start of the COVID pandemic, multiple layers of protection work better than relying on just one layer.
There is a lot of influenza circulating in Canada right now.

The flu can be especially rough on older adults & young kids...see below for current flu hospitalization rates.

It’s not too late to get your flu shot if you haven’t already.

Worth adding that (in addition to getting my flu and COVID annual boosters) I routinely wear an N95 when in public gatherings indoors and as a result have not been sick in ages. These measures work, and I love not getting laid out with illness every few months like everyone else.

airborne bird flu the government won’t acknowledge while it is engaged in fascist purges and terror campaigns is the plot of a dystopian sci fi novel
📽️ WATCH: After a bird flu outbreak tore through Midwestern barns, which led to 18 million hens being killed and a spike in egg prices, the Department of Agriculture didn’t investigate whether the virus was airborne.

But ProPublica did.

So. We’re doing alt text discourse again. COOL. Welcome to a primer.🧵

If you're unfamiliar with what alt text is, what it means, and how it's used around here, the following may be helpful.

Although it's still a very underused feature, users can add "alt text" to any image

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.
