ria and alex got me expansions for board games for dionysia which we played today and I won both! I also made a leg of lamb in the slow cooker with mash and veg and an incredibly tasty gravy using the stock from the slow cooker. so far so good, 2026.

Moreover - it's OK to celebrate a Christian holiday! You don't have to believe in Jesus to have Christian cultural ties! It's only a problem when you insist that, since what you are doing is "secular" that means it should be inoffensive to force everyone to participate.

Hard for Christians and ex-Christians to grasp sometimes, but "secular" and "culturally neutral" are not the same thing. I can celebrate a secular Purim with just cookies and gift baskets and costumes. It's still *Jewish*.
