I could play it back to listen in on the whole conversation but I could also punch myself in the head with a sampling drill and I was not going to do that, either.

I'm at the part of this emotionally devastating book (like 75% of the way finished) where the characters have finally found happiness but they're TOO HAPPY for how much book is left, and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop...

In happy news, I finished this round of revisions to my book draft and sent it out to my critique partners. What a relief!! #amwriting Now I have the mental space to do some reading and refill the well.

I bought some Halloween candy this morning and *oof* sorry kids, please come Trick-or-Treat but I'm going to have to stick to the one-piece-per-kid rule.

GOOD NEWS! For the first time ever, Huntington's disease has been successfully treated. A groundbreaking new miRNA treatment, AMT-130, slowed the progression of the disease by 75%. These results are likely to support the first approval of a genetic treatment for the rare neurodegenerative condition.

Applied to be a #scuba dive volunteer for a local aquarium (diving the exhibits to help maintain them, count animals, etc). It's such an intersection of so many of my interests. Have an interview next week, fingers crossed!

THIS. As Oscar Wilde's Miss Prism put it in her auto-critique of her own effort at the cosy three-volume novel: "The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what Fiction means."
Been exclusively watching murder shows lately. Folks ask why fans find these so cozy and I'd have thought it was obvious:

The traditional murder formula requires that all of the motivations and subsequent events make logical sense, and the bad guys get caught.

Is there ANYTHING cozier than that???

Have noticed an uptick of monarch butterflies in the garden 🦋 🌱 It's migration time! Some were mating yesterday and some were feeding! But no caterpillars currently.

In happy news, my husband and I tested our new #scuba regs yesterday! Everything worked great; I can feel my improvement w/ various techniques although I def need to keep getting experience. It was a fun time, even with tackling another "deep hole" (60ft depth, VERY cold and absolutely pitch dark).
