Really question: how long do they have to vote and what if one or more just doesn't
So the Senate vote to advance the funding deal is currently 56-40. All the Democrats have voted. FOUR Republicans have not yet voted: John Cornyn, Rick Scott, Ron Johnson and Mike Lee. All of them need to vote YES to get this to 60, otherwise it fails.

Like all other moments of mass conservative upset this is just a bunch of grown adults throwing a temper tantrum because the mess they were making was threatening their neighbor's lives so the government had to step in
Sometimes I think about that random high schooler who walked into a classroom I was subbing, calmly announced he had shit his pants, and left. He was not in the class, and the smell that lingered after him proved he was not lying. I hope he's doing okay

The good news is it's only 422 days until we maybe have a branch of government sworn in with an opposition majority and it's unclear if the leadership of that majority will be up to the task. Huzzah

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.
