Let's be clear: The flood of hatred sloshing across Britain right now is 100% a product of the political and media elite scapegoating minorities for the harms that those elites have visited upon the country.
Tonight, my 77-year-old mother ripped this flag off a dual carriageway bridge near Birmingham. Note the swastika. My dad's dad died fighting the Nazis.

Last call for ratings on our #GMTKjam submission… if you get five minutes between now and 6pm we’d love your feedback!
And that’s a second #GMTKJam completed!
All code and design by eldest (15) and this year youngest (13) got involved too and made all the art.🎨
My role this year limited to QA and keeping everyone fed and motivated. 🥪
So proud of the little slice of digital playfulness they’ve made 🙌👾

So, a few weeks ago I thought it would be fun to run a community awards programme for folks in the UK geospatial sector - from established leaders to the brilliant individuals who contribute so much (but don’t always get the credit!). So here it is 🤗 Apply now or nominate a colleague! www.geo100.com

My biggest advice to new managers relates to this:
Create safe spaces for failure. People have to fail to learn. They have to fail to innovate. They have to be confident they can fail to report issues. The happiest and most effective teams are ones that treat failure as a necessary part of the job.
Create safe spaces for failure. People have to fail to learn. They have to fail to innovate. They have to be confident they can fail to report issues. The happiest and most effective teams are ones that treat failure as a necessary part of the job.
Fail. Fail hard. Fail often. Get used to failure, because once it stops being feared, it stops holding you back. Make choices expecting to fail. Go into it with a light heart and zero expectations of success. Push yourself in low stakes situations and build up a callous. There is freedom in failure.

Sorry for venting but another example today of how What3Words have engineered an over reliance on their platform in UK emergency services.
Came across a car which was up on the verge at a strange angle, obviously not parked - 3 cars ahead of us drove past it but experience makes me always check.

It's What3Words accounts filing day 🎉
The good news! They reduced yearly losses to £10.6m from £16.4m, and turnover increased from £1m to £2.1m!
The bad news! They achieved this by laying off 36 staff, and that £1m increase is probably from a single EU client.
They have £15m in assets remaining

I need to keep saying that, because some pop by to tell me I'm being prejudiced if I don't fantasise that half of autistic ppl are 'severe' (severe= whatever they think it means at the time).
Nope.
