Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

The March OBR report was URL'd
> obr.uk/docs/dlm_upl...

Predictably, the November OBR report was URL'd:
> obr.uk/docs/dlm_upl...

Didn't take much guess work for a journo to find it.

bsky.app/profile/gile...
Sounds like the button was never pushed, article prepped, file uploaded, then someone tries a url guess. "Even though the document was not listed on the OBR website, journalists . . . were able to access it by guessing its URL, which was very similar to one used in a previous official document."

Because it always feels dangerous *not* to follow security advice, the outdated and sometimes never justified security advice piles up.

Don't get bogged down by the hacklore.

This is particularly well put, and simple - I particularly liked the point about time and attention being limited, highlighting the damage that such myths can cause.
📢 Announcing hacklore.org 📢

It’s time to retire outdated cyber advice! More than 80 cybersecurity veterans have signed an open letter urging a shift from folklore to guidance that actually helps people avoid the most common attacks. 🔐

Guys I have terrible news - this post has gone viral on Facebook, promoting hundreds of rage-filled comments from people who have taken it very seriously indeed. And, most annoyingly, the Autism Parents have found it!!
Mary Walker, 9, who has always displayed autistic traits, was miraculously fixed by her parents insisting that she stop it at once.

I know this guy who got called up for jury service. White, upper class, oxford+ Eton Group educated, British by birth, works in the City, cishet, etc, etc, etc
I actually don’t agree! I see your point but I think, people in this bracket are most likely to be able to volunteer and I would rather have people who are aware of their privilege and potential biases

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

Now this is something to chew on... 🤔
One of the crucial things to understand about scolds is that they don't want to effect positive social change; they want to feel morally superior.

Well, I present to you -- the easiest path for the 7-10 Titans to get blown out in the wildcard round!

Cool cool cool. Luckily no unhinged people have ever wanted to know the details of the jurors who convicted them, their family, their cult leaders, etc 😳
NEW: A trivial-to-exploit bug in jury systems used across the United States exposed jurors' sensitive personal data, such as full names, date of birth, emails, cell phone numbers, and home addresses — and potentially health data.

The bug allowed anyone to brute-force and access jurors' accounts.
