Hello! I'm Sarah (Gryph) and I work in an animal shelter. My partner and I own four cats, used to have a dog, and we TNR in our neighborhood. This account is mostly cat pics, as self care and because that is the candle I hold in the darkness. ❤️ Also occasional gaming and book talk. 🙂

So, I did get a chance to watch The Pitt S2: E1 - I won't spoil anything specific here. But I am getting so annoyed at the interpretation of a certain scene as the person appropriately trying to make amends.

Laguna is a very interesting little dude. He loves affection but doesn’t really hang out with people when given the option. He doesn’t dislike the other kittens but it’s clear he’s still figuring out what play is & how to interact with them. He keeps to himself for naps. Sweet little weirdo. ❤️

I know I'm old because I feel deeply confused by coming home from listening to loud live music at a bar and NOT smelling like cigarette smoke. (I was still smoking at the time I regularly saw live music at bars/pubs, so it didn't bother me. Part of my brain is just confused by the lack of it.)

Coworker is calling around some businesses to see if they're missing an outside cat-long story. She was just told by an "AI staff member" voice that it would get her to a real person. She was promptly transferred to an "AI manager." Who eventually hung up on her. 🤦

So, I try very hard to keep this a safe cat centric account. But also. If I was still living in MN, I would feel better about the MN NG being called out than waiting to see if NG was sent in from other states. I'm not saying that's the right call. I'm saying that is how I myself would *feel*.

Today I tried to leave a box of red bean mochi at work for one of my coworkers. I put in on her desk, and took a picture to send to her, but didn't send it. I thought that I later put the box back in my bag to make sure it didn't get lost during the day, but now it's not in my bag. (con)

A perfect smol baby, already adopted. He somehow snuck into a catio at the cat sanctuary a few weeks ago, initially presented as feral, then decided to tame down with some foster care from the sanctuary director. ❤️

When we have a tough day in my department at work, one of our coworkers in Adoptions will sometimes walk over and tell us, "I think you were all very strong and brave today." It sounds absolutely silly, but some days that is legitimately a great thing to hear. (And yes, I have told her that. ❤️)

Confirmed today that my car is still leaking oil, so I get to bring it back in on Wednesday. And earlier this week we established we'll need to replace our heating/cooling system soon, so that's awesome. 🙃
We are okay and will manage. I'm just a little tired of things falling apart all at once.
