Hello! I'm Sarah (Gryph) and I work in an animal shelter. My partner and I own four cats, used to have a dog, and we TNR in our neighborhood. This account is mostly cat pics, as self care and because that is the candle I hold in the darkness. ❤️ Also occasional gaming and book talk. 🙂

Tired - work's just been A Lot. But, I got to do something I like doing today. A couple ~3m old kittens came in for TNR. Sometimes TNR really is the best option! But they were so social they were trying to reach out of the traps to say hi to people, and we were able to keep them for adoption. ❤️

Chessie was being all kinds of cuddly tonight. 🙂 (Video: Clip from a porch cam. I'm sitting in a wooden rocking chair while an ear tipped tuxedo cat rubs up against my legs before flopping on the ground. I go to pet her some more and she does a sneak attack on me, but with love, lol.)

As temperatures drop, our phone lines light up with community members worried about stray and community cats. While it is wonderful that people care, rescues & shelters everywhere are at capacity. However, there are simple ways you can help outdoor cats stay safe and warm this winter.

So, sad reality of rescue and shelter work sometimes, little Chassit didn't make it through the night. Her body gave out despite her meds and IV. She looked super comfortable when I checked on her this morning, and I legitimately think she went in her sleep, sweet girl. ❤️

Sweet little girl was giving me purrs, I don't think the mic picked it up. This was right when I got her to work, before we realized she has scabies. She's quarantined and on an IV now, hoping she's feeling better soon with meds and fluids. 🤞(Vid description in next post.)

Baby from my neighborhood, poor little thing. We haven't checked if boy or girl yet. One of those kittens who sounds like a two pack a day smoker. ❤️

I do not have pictures yet, but Garfield's other mom found a stray 2-3m old kitten this morning. She doesn't get off work in time to bring baby to the shelter, so she's gonna drop her/him off in the morning and I'll bring them to work with me. Unknown if friendly, but I believe handleable at least?

I do not have pictures yet, but Garfield's other mom found a stray 2-3m old kitten this morning. She doesn't get off work in time to bring baby to the shelter, so she's gonna drop her/him off in the morning and I'll bring them to work with me. Unknown if friendly, but I believe handleable at least?

Guy who's doing our insulation came over today for the downpayment and to meet in person - he was recommended by Garfield's other mom but I hadn't met him yet. Calvin came out and made biscuits at him bc he lives for attention, and doesn't care if he makes me look like the Neighborhood Cat Lady. 😄

For anyone watching RDA, what *I* got to experience was two days at work where everything was on fire (figuratively) and I kept getting texts from home that started "We have a big problem..." while approximately three people were talking to me all at once at work about incoming injured animals. 🙃

Nash found an old monkey toy in an empty computer case (somehow) and Hamlet has decided he likes it. 🙂 (Video: Ear tipped black cat plays with soft monkey shaped cat toy. At one point he dives at it as if he's a little void shark.)

Oh my gosh LOOK at these tiny babies! They were born at Rescue Cats Safe Haven here in Tas a month ago. Their mama is very scared but an excellent mama. And her babies are exploring and doing fantastically.

Often, cats at my shelter for TNR are super stressed to be there. I kinda love when I catch one who's just enjoying the short shelter vacation. xD
(Yes, sometimes even friendly cats can and should be TNR'd depending on their own unique situation and the capacity of the shelter.)

Unsure if I'm being An Old. Four kittens with "emo names" per my coworker. But they're named Amy Lee, Chester Bennington, Gerard Way, and Pete Wentz. Those 4 don't go together like that, lol! But I'm also the wrong age to dictate what's emo. In my day it was goth, metal, nu metal, grunge, or alt.

I almost always lurk in MMOs, but my character is Gryph Rashkae if anyone sees me ingame. Warning that I am a VERY solo MMO player tho - I'm like a feral cat who sometimes likes humans in my general vicinity but will rarely communicate or participate. xD
Welp, I've invested some cosmetic money into the free to play game, watched a stream for drops, and redone my character's face a couple times after starting. These things usually mean I'm actually for real playing the thing, at least for a while. (Palia) Ofc I'm a cat witch with a witch cat. Duh.

Listening to a YT video where the person is ranking all the episodes of The X-files. I'm not someone who believes you always "had to be there" to appreciate a tv show, but hearing them talk about some of the season finales/season premieres...I'm sure they do hit different not waiting months between.
