The EHRC’s lawyers also disagree with Kishwer Falkner, chair of the EHRC, about Article 8 – the right to privacy. Before the Women and Equalities Select Committee, she had asserted that “We do not think Article 8 rights apply.” But the letter concedes the contrary.

Another message reading ‘Sorry if this seems strict, but we need to ensure you and our other guests enjoy their stay with minimal disruption as we are a family establishment and normally only allow family who all live at the same address and don't allow same sexes.’
