This is awesome. Print is such a good way to get around a bunch of distribution (and surveillance!) mechanisms that seem otherwise mandatory in this very gross economy. It is really nice to see it spelled out like this.

It works great for us, and it'll work great for other places!
404 Media is making a print zine! About the surveillance technologies used by ICE. 16 pages, riso printed. Shipping early January. Features reworked versions of our best reporting and a few new things. We're very excited! And hope to do more if people like it:

In 1909, Cora Shoop moved from Steelville,Mo to Washington state. She was almost 18 and had earned her teaching certificate in Springfield, Mo. Her mother's sister had moved to Washington in 1905. She lived with them. She taught in rural Oaksdale and Rosalia. I think these students are from Rosalia

Ignore the werewolf at your peril.
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

“Get insurance companies out of it. We don’t need a middle man. They’re like the mob, taking their cut off the top.”

You’re missing the bigger picture:

Seal Team 6 commander Adm. Bradley is now compromised as he’s going to need a pardon by DT or risk going to Leavenworth under a future Dem Admin, so DT & Hegseth have him by short hairs.

Remember Sotomayor’s questions about Seal Team 6?

DT now has Seal Team 6.

The spears have emerged from storage. While still a botany student at Washington University in the late 1920s, Julian went to Central America. First Panama, then Guatemala a few years later. Meanwhile, Cora had been a teacher for years and loved to travel. Julian and Cora met in 1930 at Mizzou!

Happy 80th anniversary, Pete Hagueseth!
Exactly 80 years ago this precise moment (8:40am Hamburg time, Nov. 30, 1945), German submarine commander Heinz-Wilhelm Eck and two of his former subordinates on the U-852 were shot by Allies in Hamburg for killing the survivors of a ship they had sunk. Pete Hagueseth needs to lawyer up immediately.
