This week, we marked Transgender Day of Remembrance at City Hall. Trans Day of Remembrance is a day of loving memory and a celebration of resilience. We grieve for the trans folks lost to anti-trans violence. The trans youth who never got the chance to become trans elders.

From Puerto Rico to Brooklyn, Rep. @velazquez.house.gov has always been a champion and tireless advocate for immigrants, small businesses and working families. Your grace and fight showed us what real leadership looks like. From the bottom of my heart, thank you La Luchadora.

Good evening all. For this year's Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR), TFR remembers three transfeminine authors who passed away this year: Miss Major Griffin-Gracy (78), Valerie Amelia Thompson (38), and Michelle Duff (85) 🖤

We also remember 367+ victims of anti-trans violence and suicide 🕯️

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, LID stands in full solidarity with our trans community in NYC and everywhere. We honor the memory of the lives lost to transphobia and bigotry, and are firm in our determination to build a better world that fully embraces transgender life, joy, and dignity.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
