NYC has been helping lead on wage equality in the past few years - Two additional bills are up for a hearing tomorrow.

Would require employers with 200+ employees to submit annual transparency reports, and for the city to do an annual pay equality study.

4 days ago, viral press coverage of an ICE agent assaulting a woman outside of an immigration courtroom got him very briefly suspended. Today, in either an act of retaliation or just brute repression, ICE officers attacked 2 journalists. 1 of them had to be taken to a hospital on a stretcher by EMS.

As co-chairs of the @council.nyc.gov LGBTQ+ Caucus we are greatly disturbed by the surge of arrests by Amtrak police in a men’s restroom at Penn Station targeting LGBTQ New Yorkers and even handing people directly to ICE without charges. This is unacceptable.

Eric Adams wants to violate New York State human rights law. Luckily, it is not in his power to do so. Students must be allowed to use the bathrooms that correspond with their gender. New York will continue to prioritize student health and safety over hateful lies about the trans community.
