NYPD resolved 26.8% of Illegal Parking reports with a disposition of "summons issued" in Oct 2025, up from 19.9% in Oct 2024🧵
I'm glad to hear DOT awarded a contract for expanding red light cameras. 150=>600 intersections in the next 10 months.

Intersections are where crashes happen - this will help bring safety.

NYC to quadruple intersections with red light cameras by end of year, officials say
The expanded program is allowed thanks to a law passed by state lawmakers in 2024.

This is the way.

Where is my spreadsheet at?
Congress must address Kristi Noem's failed leadership, up to and including impeachment. But that alone is insufficient.

The entire chain of command who have enabled a culture of murder must face justice.

NYPD issued 52,888 *moving violations* for vehicles without proper registration or license plates in 12 months.

After increasing in 2024 this fell 11% - Is NYPD finally making a dent in this problem?

NYC ended parking mandates in Manhattan* in 1982.

44 years and we still have not even completely ended parking mandates citywide, but other states are about to do circles around us.
Looking for a little bit of good news?

Delegate Shelly Simonds just introduced a bill (HB262) in the Virginia General Assembly that would prohibit minimum parking mandates for any building, new or existing, in the state.

Just one of ~7 similar bills we expect this session @parkingreform.org

There remains zero reason why photo documentation of a car on the sidewalk isn’t enough for the city to issue a fine.

DOT or NYPD could do this under their own authority, but I look forward to @cmrestler.bsky.social re-introducing a bill to force it
“Nobody will notice if I park here for a few minutes!” 🤷🏾‍♂️

Democrats stop voting for shitty Trump nominees challenge (impossible)
7 Democrats just voted today to confirm a Trump judicial nominee who refused to say what happened on January 6 or answer who won the 2020 election:

Hassan
Kaine
King
Klobuchar
Shaheen

Engagement has picked up on 🦋 in the past few days.

The mayors account had 300 followers this morning when I re-posted this. 60k now. That’s 2% of all follows today.
Bluesky community! This is my official NYC mayor account. I’ll be posting updates on what’s happening at City Hall and how we’re delivering for New Yorkers. It’s great to be here.

Bike lanes and sidewalk extensions speed emergency vehicle response times because there are no cars there. That’s the key.

How do you know it’s an @illegal53nyc.bsky.social on 9th Ave?

The 53 is literally labeled right there.

Let’s see if @mayor.nyc.gov is willing to step up enforcing truck regulations.

I'm ready to nitpick these quotes.

Does the M15 really "snake through" the upper east side?

You know, where it's straight up and down 1st and 2nd Ave from Houston to 125th St and back again.

We have the tow trucks - now it’s time for NYPD to setup a new Manhattan tow pound - or time for DOT to close a street off as a tow pound (after all, no one but me fusses that NYPD illegally closed off this street)

As a proud progressive I am extremely uncomfortable with a city council speaker that had unanimous support *including from every republican*.

Certainly that’s a 🚩 red flag no?
The City Council is back — and in its first act, members unanimously voted Council Member Julie Menin their next Speaker. But transportation and street safety issues weren't mentioned among the Upper East Side Democrat's priorities for the city in her first presser as Speaker. buff.ly/Y0yJ582

The Council elected a new Speaker yesterday, but there was not much talk of transportation. Plus other news.

Still asking for a spreadsheet - honestly I don't think i'm close enough to the workings of congress to make one, but we collectively should be tracking impeachment of Trump, Secretary Kristi Noem and other cabinet members specifically.
Who has a spreadsheet tracking impeachment?

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

I hate inconsistencies - listening to the 2026 Council Charter Meeting and some council members are getting introduced with middle initial, some not. About half and half.

Things like this get under my skin.

It's "Chi A. Ossé", but just "Sandy Nurse"
It's "Farah N. Louis" but just "Frank Morano"

This illegal billboard vehicle was ridiculously bright - but hard to capture on a modern phone camera that compresses the dynamic range of the photo.
